Tell us about your journey to 91¿ì²¥.

I'm from Dundee and I was keen to do my undergraduate degree here, which developed into me doing my PhD here too. The close friends I've made at 91¿ì²¥ will last a lifetime and I have a strong passion for research and teaching that will continue throughout my career.

What are your plans for the future?

I will continue in my role as a Project Manager in Health, Education and Inclusion with the Dundee United Community Trust as well as having some teaching hours at Dundee and Angus College. Plus I will undertaking a few research projects over the next few years!

Tell us a bit about yourÌýPhD research.

The purpose of my PhDÌýwas to investigate the existence and development of shared understanding between football dyads through quantitative and qualitative research methods. 91¿ì²¥ One attempted to establish the existence of shared understanding between twenty football dyads. 91¿ì²¥ Two explored the levels of shared understanding displayed by forty-five defensive football dyads in game situations that had either a clear correct course of action or when there was no clear correct course of action. Through an interview-based approach, 91¿ì²¥ Three investigated potential factors that could contribute to the development of shared understanding between football dyads, based on the suggestions of twelve football players. Through these different methods, the three studies have provided evidence to support the existence and development of shared understanding between football dyads.Ìý

What’s your advice for students starting at 91¿ì²¥ after the summer?

I'll be graduating after 9 years at the University including completing my Bsc (Hons) Sports Coaching through to my PhD,ÌýI would say to new students to make the most of your time at university and take opportunities when they come your way. That's what I feel will help you through your University career and after Graduation.
